The story. Inspired by Revelation 5:8 and I “saw” this painting as a vision and felt that God wanted me to paint the bowl of prayers. I had such a strong desire that stayed in my mind for months and it is the FIRST time I have had a vision precede a painting. Always before I stand before the white canvas like jumping off a cliff into the unknown with no idea what will transpire. I began it about a month before the COVID-19 outbreak.
As this emerged I felt compelled to share it as a blessing and encouragement to the world to pray, to know that the prayers of God’s people are burning there before His throne – they are very real here and in heaven. Also have been so impressed with the intimacy and the powerful gatherings online with intercessors around the world as we zoom-pray together. The painting seems so timely. So, for the FIRST time in my life I shared a painting of mine on Facebook. Before I “post” I prayed again and said, “Lord do you really want me to post this?” and He said, “I did not give you this to put in the closet.” So I hit post. Also the FIRST painting that I finished in 2020.
This is an excerpt from Saturday night service (reopening the church after social restrictions) Brian’s powerful passionate words with “Prayers of the Saints” behind him.
” Its a revelation.
Jesus said these words in Mark chapter 11 verse 17. “My house shall be called a house of prayer”. There’s the prayer, there the worship, there’s the incense arising. It will be a burning house of prayer, a burning house of worship – incense going up before God, and I got to tell ya I don’t have a clue to understand why God has bowls in heaven… the apostle John gets taken up and John beholds there’s bowls in heaven and the angel tells him what’s going on inside of those bowls is the prayers of the saints arising before God, its the incense and the burning of the prayers of the saints coming up out of the earth and what are they doing, they are filling bowls. I mean let’s just say that God is beyond brilliant. He’s beyond my understanding… There’s something about the heart of God that has to be discovered in this, there’s something in the way God works with all humanity through the burning of prayer. You ain’t going to get anything being casual and content and apathetic. You have to be a burning heart to pursue God with all that you are, and everyone of us has to learn… the mystery, the power and the beauty of a real prayer life. Of what it means to burn before God alone.” hear the podcast
